For wind turbine owners, service companies and O&M

Inspect the rotor blades. With the turbine running.

Drone-based screening of wind turbine rotor blades with thermal analysis and assessment of visible surface damage. We look for indications of hidden structural damage and provide information to help you prioritise further inspection and maintenance.

Screening during operation

Find the right blade for the next intervention.

Screening is carried out while the wind turbine is in normal operation, without stopping it for data collection. The results help you choose which turbines and blade areas need closer inspection and support maintenance decisions.

Two analysis methods in one service

A view of both the surface and what may lie beneath.

UAS Inspect carries out drone-based data collection. Our specialist partner AQUADA analyses the material and produces the report. Thermal analysis and RGB-based assessment of surface damage are included together.

01

Thermal analysis

Indications beneath the blade surface

Thermal camera material is analysed to identify indications of hidden damage and structural deviations beneath the rotor blade surface.

  • Analysis of thermal material from operating turbines
  • Indications of potentially critical structural damage
  • Location on the affected blade and area
  • Information for targeted further investigation
02

Visual analysis · RGB

Assessment of visible surface damage

Conventional camera images are used to assess visible damage on rotor blade surfaces and complement the thermal analysis.

  • RGB-based assessment of the blade surface
  • Documentation of visible damage indications
  • Visual information for follow-up
  • Included with thermal analysis and reporting

What you receive

A report to plan your next steps.

The report brings together the project scope, analysis results, located findings and recommendations. This makes it easier to pass the right information to the operations team or the next inspection and service partner.

Initial decision support

Prioritise further inspection and maintenance.

Screening helps you identify rotor blades and areas requiring closer investigation. The results can be used to plan targeted close inspection and further investigation ahead of decisions about repair or replacement.

Finding no deviations does not mean a rotor blade is free from damage. Findings may need verifying through close inspection or other testing methods.

  • 01Choose which turbines need closer inspection
  • 02Locate blade areas for follow-up
  • 03Plan inspection and maintenance work
  • 04Bring findings and recommendations together in a report

Frequently asked questions

About rotor blade screening during operation

Does the wind turbine need to be stopped?

Screening is carried out while the wind turbine is in normal operation, without stopping it for data collection.

Does it include both thermal analysis and surface damage assessment?

Thermal analysis and RGB-based assessment of surface damage are included together.

Who carries out the analysis?

UAS Inspect carries out drone-based data collection. Our specialist partner AQUADA analyses the material and produces the report.

What is the report used for?

The results can be used to plan targeted close inspection and further investigation ahead of decisions about repair or replacement.

Is a blade with no findings guaranteed to be free from damage?

Finding no deviations does not mean a rotor blade is free from damage. Findings may need verifying through close inspection or other testing methods.
